EncSummary:

The morning began with reports of J pod in the area again so the team left Shilshole Marina at about 0825. We saw our first whales mid-channel near the bottom of the Possession Triangle and the encounter began there at 0845. We had one loose group heading north that included all the J17s and J36. J16 and J42 were just a little to the southwest of this group. The J17s and J36 were active and socializing as they headed north. J47 soon broke away and headed off to the west but the others remained social as they traveled.
The rest of J pod was very spread out on either side of our group. Towards the end of the encounter J38 was seen breaching multiple times as he foraged. We ended the encounter a ways east of Pilot Point in the middle of the triangle at 1230.
